MANCHESTER, N.H.- It was an afternoon of celebration at the Manchester School District Welcome Center Tuesday, as French clubs at Bakersville, Northwest and Webster wrapped up for the school year.
Students in each school's clubs showed off what they have learned this year, singing songs, counting, and displaying artwork with a confidence that made all of the families in the room beam with pride.
The clubs are part of the French Heritage Language Program, which are operated in partnership with The Franco-American Centre through a generous donation by the Albertine Foundation. The nonprofit strives to celebrate the rich heritage of local French communities though educational programs, cultural activities and social events.
The clubs are part of the District's ongoing commitment to expanding multilingual programs for students. The District also offers French and Spanish dual language immersion programs at Weston and Bakersville, where students have the opportunity to develop proficiency in English and second world language by the time they reach middle school. To date, Manchester remains the only district in the state of New Hampshire to offer dual language immersion programs.
Enrollment in the programs for the 2026-27 school year is open now. For more information, click here.
