MANCHESTER – Beech Street Elementary School teacher Anna Balletta has been named an Extraordinary Educator by Curriculum Associates, one of 32 chosen from across the nation for this school year.

The annual program celebrates and connects exemplary teachers in Grades K–8 from around the country. Balletta and the other honorees were chosen from among hundreds of nominees for their innovative use of the i-Ready diagnostic and Ready Math curriculum to foster student growth and achievement.

“I am honored to have been selected as a Curriculum Associates 2024 Extraordinary Educator,” Balletta said. “I take great pride in my teaching practices and am thrilled to have the opportunity to collaborate with other educators from around the country. I am looking forward to all of the opportunities that will present themselves to me during this year. My biggest goal is to ensure that everything I learn is utilized in my classroom so my students can benefit and continue making growth.”

This year’s class of Extraordinary Educators includes a diverse range of backgrounds and roles—from classroom teachers to specialists and gifted support teachers. Each educator’s application was reviewed by an internal selection committee composed of Curriculum Associates employees with various roles across the company and then finalized by an advisory board that included Curriculum Associates employees, previous Extraordinary Educators, and a college student pursuing a degree in urban education.

“We have extraordinary educators all throughout our school district, and this recognition is more evidence of that,” said Nicole Doherty, Interim Assistant Superintendent for Manchester School District. “Anna’s work stands out, not just here in New Hampshire where she was a semi-finalist for teacher of the year, but also across the nation. We are proud of her and thrilled she has earned this recognition.”

The Extraordinary Educators will enjoy continued access to a network of distinguished peers from across the country to collaborate, connect, and trailblaze new and unique ways of learning to provide the best service to young learners. They will also receive access to professional learning opportunities, including an invitation to participate and present at the Extraordinary Educators Leadership Summit and other professional learning events.
