The board of school committee is sworn in at the inauguration on January 2

MANCHESTER – On January 2, the City of Manchester held the inauguration for Mayor Jay Ruais as well as the Board of Mayor and Aldermen and the Board of School Committee. After the ceremony, which was held at the Palace Theatre, both boards headed to City Hall for their organizational meetings.

The new members of the Board of School Committee include:

  • Mayor Jay Ruais, chair of the Board of School Committee
  • Ward 6 - Dan Bergeron
  • Ward 8 – Jessica Spillers
  • Ward 9 – Bob Baines
  • Ward 10 – Joy Senecal
  • Ward 11 – Liz O’Neil

The following board members were re-elected:

  • Ward 1 – Julie Turner
  • Ward 2 – Sean Parr
  • Ward 3 – Karen Soule
  • Ward 4 – Leslie Want
  • Ward 5 – Jason Bonilla
  • Ward 7 – Chris Potter
  • Ward 12 – Carlos Gonzalez
  • At Large – Jim O’Connell, Vice Chair of the Board of School Committee
  • At Large – Peter Argeropoulos
