A Look Back on 2019 at Manchester School District
Cold Weather Notes
It’s the first bitterly cold weather of the year, and temperatures are dropping to dangerous lows over the next couple of days. Just a reminder to please make sure children are well protected with the appropriate clothing and accessories:
- Dress in loose layers
- Wear a coat that shields the wind
- Cover heads, ears, hands and feet with hats, gloves/mittens, and warm socks/boots
- Scarves can protect mouths and cheeks
Children should change out of wet clothing immediately.
Outdoor activity should be limited. Prolonged exposure to the cold can lead to frostbite. Watch for signs, such as a tingling or loss of feeling and a pale appearance in fingers, toes, ear lobes or the tip of the nose.
