Research and Report aids
As students do research, it is very important to talk with them about ethical practices in using information, i.e. the issue of plaigarism, how to take notes and rephrase information, and how to give the proper credit.
In elementary school, students are practicing this skill. We obviously have different standards for a third grader than for a fifth grader or a middle school student, but it is very important to get them in the habit!! Don't let students hear about this first in middle school!
We have developed several forms which students can use to keep track of this information and which can be used as the last page of a report or story that relied on factual research.
