We would like to welcome you to our home online.  We hope that you enjoy our school’s web pages and that you check back frequently.  Our site has vital and up to date information on school events and news. We’d like to thank the web weavers for their continued efforts to communicate with our community with the contents of these web pages. 

There is so much excitement at Henry Wilson Elementary.  Our expectations are soaring and the building is alive with promise. Our school is unique for many reasons.  We have a diverse and multi-cultural student body of over 400 students that speak up to 15 different languages. Each student is unique and we celebrate that diversity by understanding our students and knowing them as individuals.  We strive for excellence with our instructional practices and provide a safe and nurturing environment in which all students have the opportunity to reach their goals.

We have creative and quality staff members that have been at Henry Wilson for many years and we also have some talented new comers that bring new excitement. Our school is also supported by a core of parent volunteers that give their all to assist in our mission.  We have many programs and plans for our school year and for the years to come.  In conjunction with our dedication to literacy and math initiatives and programming, we now have full time literacy teacher/coaches in place that provide crucial support and training for all of our staff.  We are also encouraged about our initial involvement and implementation of Response to Intervention (RTI), a system which helps schools in identifying and supplying school-wide support for all students in need of help. 

In closing, please accept our invitation to be a part of this excitement.  A school is more than a building where students go to class.  It is a place where the community can come together and be involved with its future.  The parents of our students are welcome here and we implore you to stay involved with your children and to be a part of their journey at Henry Wilson School. We ask that our parents and families stay in touch with their child’s teacher the whole year through. Ask your child questions about what it is they’re learning, support your child’s teacher by helping your child at home and please try to come to Partners In Education meetings and events.  We hope that you are able to play a part in this exciting and positive school year.
