Welcome to the Weston Library Page

The library at Weston school contains a collection of books, magazines, and videos for student and teacher use. All students in full-day kindergarten through fifth grade visit the library on a weekly basis. During their library time, students receive instruction in library and information skills.

It is the mission of the Weston School Library to ensure that all students and staff are effecitve users of information for the purposes of instruction, research, and for personal growth. Our goals are to provide instruction in information literacy skills, to offer resources that expand student knowledge of the curriculum and meet the personal interest needs of the school community, and to encourage values of literacy and lifelong learning.

During their weekly library class, students have the opportunity to select books for check-out. Books can be checked out from the library for a period of one week. Students in grades 3-5 have the privilege of taking their checked-out books home, while students in grades K-2 are asked to keep their books at school. Students are allowed to renew items if they have not been requested by another individual. When a book is not returned to the library, students receive an overdue notice with a request for return of the item or payment of a replacement cost, as is noted in the Weston Student Handbook.

Betsy Corradino has been the Weston Elementary School Library Media Specialist since 2007. The library has seen many changes in the past year to help launch our students into an information literate society, and we look forward to many more.
