Dear Weston Families

I hope everyone had a restful vacation week and is ready to get back to the work at hand. Report card grades close on the 19th so the next two weeks would be a good time to make sure your student is caught up on any work owed and that they continue to work towards good grades. Please remember that homework is very important practice and that in many cases it is tied to a grade. There has been an increase in students failing to do their homework and take responsibility for handing it in. As parents, please reinforce its importance and provide a consistent time and place at home where your child is expected to do their homework. Consistency really helps reinforce responsibility and we really appreciate parent support.

As we all know, March and April bring inconsistent weather. We are asking that all students continue to dress appropriately for winter. Students will not be let out for recess without winter coats or multiple layers. On unusually warm days we will let the students know before recess if they may leave their coats behind provided they have a sweater or sweatshirt. Thank you for your help in this matter.

We would like to thank all the students and parents who participated in "Chores for a Cause". As a school, we raised $450.00 to help Haiti. The students did a great job helping others. Also, we would like to celebrate the success of the Boys Basketball Team. They played an undefeated season and are the Elementary School champions for 2009-2010. Congratulations to the boys and their coaches, Mr. Carrier and Mr. Hines. A job well done.
