The following websites for parents and children are a few of my favorites.

Websites for Parents

*Reading Rockets:  www.readingrockets.org

This site offers a wealth of information on current educational research in the area of literacy for parents and teachers.  You will find many articles and the PBS online video Empowering Parents.

*Family Education:  www.familyeducation.com

You will discover a plethora of ideas supporting school skills in Reading, Math, Social Studies, and Science.  There are printable games and learning activities to use while driving in the car.  Activities for your family are easy to find because they are grouped by grades pre-K, 3-5, and 6-12.

*Child and Family Webguide:  www.cfw.tufts.edu

This site features a multitude of web resources for parents about the following topics:  Family/Parenting, Education/Learning, Child Development, Health/Mental Health, and Resources/Recreation

Websites for Children Grades K-5

*KidZone:  www.kidzone.ws

This Fun Facts site has online Math and Language Arts games, animal and geography facts, and free books and flashcards to download.

*Gamequarium:  www.gamequarium.com

This site provides 1500 links to online games in some of the following subjects:  Language Arts, Math, Music, Keyboarding, and Student Created Games.  Check out Readquarium for games on Vocabulary, Phonics, Comprehension, and more.

*Book Adventure:  www.bookadventure.com

Students read books and take quizzes for prizes.
