Smyth Road School will celebrate the 50th anniversary of its founding Thursday, Sept. 28 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. during its annual school picnic.
Alumni, former teachers and staff members, and members of the community are encouraged to attend, according to Denise Tomasko, the school’s principal.
Visitors will be offered tours of the school, and Mayor Frank Guinta will offer a proclamation in honor of the school’s anniversary. The mayor’s remarks will begin at 6:30 p.m.
The entrance to the school is located at 245 Bruce Road in the city’s North End.
