Legacy of Student Killed at Columbine Foundation of Assembly
Who: The
students of Hillside Middle School
and

parents of Hillside students
What: will
take on ÒRachelÕs Challenge,Ó an interactive assembly based on the diaries of
Rachel Scott, the first student killed during the Columbine massacre in
1999. ÒRachelÕs ChallengeÓ urges
students to eliminate prejudice, dare to dream, choose influences selectively,
and act kindly toward others.

About the program: Video and audio footage of RachelÕs life and the
Columbine tragedy
holds students spellbound
during a one-hour school presentation that motivates them
to change the way they treat
others.
An interactive 45-minute
training session involving adult and student leaders follows, and an evening
session for parents and
community leaders assists participants in devising strategies to sustain the
positive
momentum created by the
assembly.
