Memorial Students, Faculty Exposed to 'Trace' Amounts
of Mercury Today

Jan. 18 - The Manchester Fire Department released the following statement
regarding an incident today at Memorial High School:

"This afternoon, 8 students and 2 staff members received a very limited
exposure to mercury at the beginning of a class. Exposure to Mercury is
measured in parts per billion. The affected persons had trace amounts on
their hands and shoes. Fire Department members measured less than one
part per billion on those persons who showed any exposure. All of those
exposed were decontaminated as a precaution and transported to area
hospitals."
