McLaughlin Fundraiser Nets $1600

for Madol Family

More Efforts Planned at McLaughlin and McDonough

Over $1,600 was raised by McLaughlin Middle School students for the family of Bol Madol, the McDonough School fifth grader who was killed last month while playing on the Queen City Bridge.  The funds will help defray funeral and cemetery expenses.

Madol’s brothers and sisters attended McLaughlin.

Proceeds came from a dance organized by Dan Marshall, a guidance counsellor, and by the girls’ cross country team.

Another fundraiser, a raffle featuring a baseball signed by Red Sox star Jason Varitek, is planned for the future.

McDonough School will hold a two-mile walk-a-thon to raise money for Madol’s family Sat., Sept. 22 at 10:30 a.m. at McDonough.  Registration begins at 9:45 a.m.

Funds will be raised through registration fees and donations.  Adults will be charged $10 to enter, and students will be charged $5. Those who can’t walk but wish to donate may send checks payable to McDonough School to McDonough School, 550 Lowell St., Manchester, NH  03104.
