Kathy Cook Joins Bean Foundation as Grant Manager

Kathy Cook has been named grant manager of the Norwin S. and Elizabeth N. Bean Foundation.

Cook served for the past decade as the business and education partnership coordinator at the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce.  She is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire.

As grant manager, Cook will assist applicants with the preparation of proposals, evaluate requests for assistance, and make recommendations for funding to the foundation’s board of trustees.

The Bean Foundation is a general purpose charitable foundation that awards grants to non-profit organizations and municipal and public agencies serving the citizens of Manchester and Amherst.  Grants are made in the fields of arts and humanities, education, environment, health, human services, and public/society benefit.

Named for Norwin S. Bean, a lifelong Manchester resident and chief executive officer of the Manchester Savings Bank, and his wife Elizabeth, an Amherst native, the Bean foundation makes approximately $600,000 worth of grants annually and has assets in excess of $14 million, making it one of New Hampshire’s largest charitable foundations.
