Governor's Council on Physical Activity and Health Announces 2008 Outstanding Achievement Award Recipients
Smyth Road Teacher Among Recipients

Concord, NH (May, 2008) - The New Hampshire Governor's Council on Physical Activity and Health is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2008 Outstanding Achievement Award for Physical Activity and Health. The awards are presented to organizations and individuals who have made a significant impact on the health of NH residents by promoting healthy lifestyles through physical activity and fitness programs. The 2008 award recipients are:

Mrs. Lili Spinosa: Exeter School District - Award Category: Individual School
Mrs. Martha Lamothe: Manchester School District - Award Category: School District
Wellness Committee/Conval High School - Award Category: Worksite
Club Chameleon/New Market Recreation Department - Award Category: Youth Related Organization

The award recipients will be honored at a ceremony on May 9 during the Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds, Healthy Schools Celebration at the New Hampshire Technical Institute in Concord, NH.

The New Hampshire's Governor's Council on Physical Activity and Health was formed in 1991 by Executive Order of Governor Judd Gregg. The Council's mission is to promote a healthy lifestyle for all New Hampshire residents with a special emphasis on children and youth. Since its founding, the Council has advocated for legislation, written white papers and developed programs and events with the goal of improving the physical health of NH's residents.
