Central Senior’s Writing Cited by NH English Teachers

Central High School senior Matthew Paulson has been recognized by the New
Hampshire chapter of the National Council of Teachers of English for the
quality of his writing.

Paulson was among five students in the state to be awarded the group’s
2007 Achievement Award in Writing that recognizes excellence in writing by
high school juniors. Students submit a portfolio of creative writing and
respond to an impromptu theme selected by judges.

Central has a long history of producing NCTE award winners, according to
Selma Naccach-Hoff, the chair of Central’s English department. Central
students have been winners of the award in eight of the last 10 years.
