Ten members of the Board of School Committee attended a recent workshop designed to review the roles and responsibilities of a New Hampshire school board member. The workshop took place Apr. 17.
The New Hampshire School Board Association sponsored the three-hour training session.
Board members Joyce Craig, Mike DiBlasi, Katherine Labanaris, Donna Soucy, David Gelinas, Doug Kruse, John Avard, Stephen Dolman, Jon Cote, and Kathleen Kelley attended the session.
“The discussion included topics such as the key roles board members play in the establishment of district policies and goals. Governing and oversight responsibilities were also discussed, and board members were asked to share their ideas for strengthening and improving their skills as school board members,” according to Katherine Labanaris, vice chair of the board and the organizer of the district’s participation in the workshop.
