How Can You Help Your Child Ready for 2nd Grade?
Your child will be learning many important skills next year. Many parents ask how they can help their child learn. You may want to try some of these ideas with your child.
Set aside a time each day to talk with your child about what happened in school. Let your child tell you what was taught that day. Your child will also benefit from showing you what they liked best and what is easiest or most difficult about their school work.
Read and enjoy books with your child. Children benefit from being read to even if they can read on their own. Reading to your child will expand vocabulary and foster a love for learning.
Help your child get a card for the public library. Find out if your library has a children's story time or reading club for your child's age group.
