Northwest Elementary School is fortunate to have an exciting reading intervention program called Read 180. This program is available to third and fourth grade students who need extra support in language arts. The goal of Read 180 is to have each participating child experience long-term reading success. It is designed to build reading skills through a balance of instructional practices including systematic, customized software instruction, modeled reading with audio books, independent reading of leveled text, and teacher directed whole and small group lessons. Children who attend Read 180 for the school year make incredible gains, feel positive about their abilities, and become enthusiastic readers.
