The program is designed to give the student skills in design
with an emphasis in publishing. Students will acquire skills that will
allow them the opportunity to enter the job market with entry level skills.
It will allow them to have an edge when competing for positions in advertising,
desktop design, marketing and publication.
Students will also learn how to combine office programs with
Photoshop to create business cards, brochures, CD covers and other related
design materials. They can also acquire skills necessary to work in the
graphics industry. (Which is one of the largest industries in the world,
by employee and salary per capita.)
Students will enjoy using state of the art computers with
up-to-date software such as Quark Express, InDesign CS2 and Photoshop CS2.
(Which are currently being used by the design industry.)
Students will also have the opportunity to learn various
equipment skills for numerous graphic industry positions such as Prepress
Technician, Offset Press Operator, Bindery Worker and Customer Service
