Do you like to work on cars? As a student in this program,
you will be instructed by ASE Certified instructors, use the best tools
and state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment to develop professional automotive
skills. Through active participation and classroom iinstruction, students
will be trained in the following ASE areas: brakes, electrical/electronic
systems, engine performance, suspension and steering, automatic transmission
and transaxle, engine repair, heating and air conditioning, manual drive
and axles.
Second year seniors have the opportunity to participate in
a job shadowing program in a variety of area repair centers and dealerships. Interested
students compete in-state and national Ford/AAA Student Auto Skills contestand
have the opportunity to earn college scholarships and awards.
Job opportunities in the Automotive Technology area include
general automotive technician, dealer technician, auto parts sales person,
service station attendant and specialized repair shop positions.The opportunity
to further a student’s automotive education in a two-year technical college
program also exists.
