SERVICES PROVIDED
- Certified teachers of Deaf and Hard of
Hearing students provide direct teaching as well
as
consultation or coteaching with general
education staff.
- A Speech and Language Pathologist,
trained in working with Dear and Hard of
Hearing
children provides individual and group
therapy as well as consultation in regards to
appropriate amplification.
- A counselor of the Deaf and Hard of
Hearing provides individual and group counseling
and
family support and
consultation.
- Psychological evaluations are provided
by a School Psychologist trained in working with
Deaf
and Hard of Hearing students.
- Sign Language interpreters are
available to provide access in all areas of the school
including
the office, cafeteria, at recess and
assemblies, as well as during extracurricular
activities.
American Sign Language classes are offered
after school hours to foster family
communication. During school hours
hearing peers are also taught sign language to
encourage communication and
socialization.
