The History of Green Acres School

Green Acres School was built in 1963, by the Caron Construction Company of Manchester, at the cost of approximately $600,000. It was designed by architects Andrew Isaak and John Betley and held grades K-8.
The original building only had wing A and wing B. In 1970, wing C was built. From 1967 through 1997, Green Acres School held grades K-6.
In September 1998, McLaughlin Middle School began for grade 6. When McLaughlin school was built, the entrance to Green Acres was changed from Aurore Avenue to Jack Lovering Drive. The parking, playground and fields were also changed. Since 1998, Green Acres School has held grades K-5.
