Readiness and Grade 1

Language Art
We have been very busy reviewing letter recognition, letter sounds and letter formation using the Wilson Fundations Program. We are practicing high-frequency words along with our weekly vocabulary words that go along with the Houghton-Mifflin reading series.

Creative Writing
We are beginning our daily writing activities. We are developing skills and strategies to help us move toward being good creative writers.

Math
We just began using a new math program in our district called “Everyday Math”. Parents will be receiving Home School Links which go along with the program. We also use “Math Minutes” each day in addition to “Everyday Counts Calendar Math” math program.
