Northeast Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services (NDHHS) is New Hampshire's "one-stop" resources for services specific to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community and for information about hearing loss. They provide information regarding sign language interpreter requests, communication access, family sign language classes as well as advocacy and resources for Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals here in the State of New Hampshire.
The Laurent Clerc National Deaf
Education Center (Clerc Center) at Gallaudet University works in
collaboration with a network of exemplary programs and professionals to
identify, research, develop, evaluate and disseminate innovative curricula,
materials, educational strategies, and technologies for deaf and hard of hearing
students. The Clerc Center also provides training and technical assistance to
families and programs throughout the United States, and serves as a
model individualized educational program, working in close partnership with our
students and their families.

The Shared Reading Project is designed to teach parents and caregivers how to read to their deaf and hard of hearing children using American Sign Language, and to use strategies to make book sharing most effective.
This site helps explain what the Shared Reading Project is, how it works, what is the research behind it, what we are learning, and how sites around the United States can set up their own Shared Reading Project.

The National Association of the Deaf
The mission of the National Association of the Deaf is to promote, protect, and preserve the rights and quality of life of deaf and hard of hearing individuals in the United States of America.

The DCMP provides a
free-loan media program of over
4,000 open-captioned titles (videos, CD-ROM, and DVD). Deaf and hard of hearing
persons, teachers, parents, and others may borrow materials. There are no
rental, registration, or postage fees.

BEGINNINGS for Parents of Children
Who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, Inc., has served families as a non-profit
organization, since 1987. BEGINNINGS was established to provide emotional
support and access to information as a central resource for families with deaf
or hard of hearing children, age birth through 21. BEGINNINGS provides an
impartial approach to meeting the diverse needs of these families and the
professionals who serve them. The mission of BEGINNINGS is to inform and empower
parents as they make decisions about their child.

The ASDC was founded in 1967 as a
parent-helping-parent network. Their mission is to provide support,
encouragement and information to families raising children who are deaf or hard
of hearing.
UNH offers American Sign Language courses at both the Manchester and Durham campuses.
During the Summer of 2008, UNH will also offer an ASL Immersion camp.
