Title 1 Early Childhood Education Program
Manchester, NH School District

Reaching Families Program Vision

A Learning Community for Children and Adults
Where children are valued for their ability to do meaningful work,
their wonder and curiosity, their perspectives, and ability to play -
Where families are valued for their bonds and traditions,
their ability to play, their commitment to work, home, and community,
and their dreams for their children-
Where staff are valued for their vision, their delight in children, their skill,
heart, and knowledge, a commitment to families, and an ability to play -
We cherish what we learn from each other.

Overview
Manchester's Title 1 Program has joined hearts and hands with other community agencies in the development of the "Reaching Families Program" for preschool children and their families.  "Reaching Families" builds on strengths and resources that already exist in Manchester, rather than duplicate their efforts.  The program is designed to make creative educational opportunities available that include early childhood education, adult literacy programming, parenting education and family support.

Eligibility / Referrals

Participants in the "Reaching Families Program" are children between the ages of three and five year olds and their families residing in the seven Title 1 school attendance areas (Bakersville, Beech St. Gossler Park, Hallsville, Henry Wilson, McDonough, Northwest , and non-public schools).
Referral are made by principals and their staffs in both public and non-public schools, as well as community social service and health agencies.  Families may also refer themselves.
