Health Education
The purpose of this course is to help the student achieve and maintain their wellness, not only now, but throughout their lives. The content of this course includes all aspects of health - physical, mental, and social. Instructional content will include, but is not limited to: substance abuse, nutrition and human growth and development, communicable and noncommunicable diseases.
Physical Education
(Requirements: Two semester of Physical Education are required for graduation. Each must change into his/her P.E. uniform . . . sneakers, shorts, T-shirts, or jogging suit.) The physiacl education program is designed to have students meet the five point definition of the Physically Education Person developed by the National Association for Sports and Physical Education (NASPE) Outcomes Committee. The outcomes are designed to reflect broad areas of development, understanding, and focus on self-evaluation, lifetime values, and carry -over activities. All classes are co-ed. The activities offered are speed walking*, badminton, basketball, volleyball*, soccer, table tennis, team handball, weight training*, football, pickleball circuit training, health fitness training*, aerobics step aerobics, line dancing, recreational games, new games, and bowling. *Required activities.
