CENTRAL PRIDE FOUNDATION


--- 3rd Annual Pride Time Raffle ---

The Central Pride Foundation is pleased to announce the 3rd Annual Pride Time Raffle to raise funds to support Central High School. Proceeds will help fund academic endeavors, support the arts, and provide for innovative activities for current students at Central.

The Grand Prize of the raffle will be $2500 in cash. Each ticket costs $100 and only 100 tickets will be sold. Ticket holders will have a one in ten chance to win a cash award. There are only a few tickets currently available and those will be sold on a first come-first serve basis.

The drawing for the fund-raising raffle will take place on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 from 6 to 8 pm at the new smoke-free Riverside function room at Milly's Tavern. All ticket holders will be treated to a buffet of hors d'oeuvres and two complimentary drinks, so bring a friend along. The evening will also include a variety of door prizes along with a silent auction boasting assorted Central High School logo clothing and other items.

  • The Foundation would like to express appreciation to the the Class of 1964 for their recent generosity. A special thanks to Richard Dobens for his contribution in memory of his mother Pauline Martel Dobens, a former Languages teacher at Central.

MISSION STATEMENT

To establish a private non-profit 501 C3 foundation to support the enrichment of the educational process at Manchester High School Central.

GENERAL ACTIVITIES

  • Raise funds through charitable contributions to the 501 C3 non-profit corporation. (all contributions are tax-deductible)
  • To fund enrichment programs which enhance the educational experience for the students at Central High School. Over the past four (4) years, the Foundation has supported activities including
    • DECA competitions in Orlando, Florida
    • purchased a milling machine for the robotics team
    • supporting a French class trip to NYC to meet with United Nations representatives
    • helping Maskers with sound equipment
    • annual sponsorship of the Central Scholarship night
  • To develop a base of funds for distribution for enrichment at Central High School through a board of directors. The board will consist of community leaders, alumni and current CHS administrators.

PURPOSES

  • To purchase technology for Central High School.
  • Support student academic competitions and field trips.
  • Supplement the purchase of academic materials and funding of student publications.
  • Sponsor student theatrical, musical productions and art exhibits.
  • Arrange for and fund guest speakers and lecturers.
  • Fund and enhance other academic activities at Central High School that improve the educational experience.
