Beech Street Elementary School Mission Statement

Beech Street Elementary School Library Mission

It is the mission of the Beech Street Elementary School library to help the entire school community become better users of information and to provide opportunities for students to become lifelong learners and enthusiastic readers.

Beech Street Elementary School Library Philosophy

It is the philosophy of the Beech Street Elementary School library that all students can be successful learners, and that the library is an important part of all students' educations. The Library is the center of the school's resources for curriculum and pleasure reading, and as such will seek out materials and programs that support this role.   This will require the library media specialist to participate in school wide planning and curriculum committees as well as collaborate with individual staff.

Beech Street Elementary School Library Program Goals

1. To provide instruction and programs that promote a love of reading throughout our entire school community.

2. To collaborate with other educators in planning lessons and purchasing materials in support of the school's curriculum.

3. To help students and staff learn how to independently access information in all its forms.
