Kindergarten Kindergarten students are not allowed to borrow books to take home. However, they are allowed to choose a book for their classroom library each week when they have their scheduled library class. Students may use these books in the classroom only.
Grade 1 Students are allowed to borrow one book weekly from the easy fiction section. Books can be taken out for one week only and are to remain in school.
Grades 2, 3, 4 & 5 Students in these grades may borrow two books each week. Students can choose from the easy fiction, fiction, non-fiction and biography sections of the library. Books from the Joke and Drawing sections are restricted to one per week due to their popularity. Students may renew their books for a period of up to three weeks.
Lost / Damaged Books Students who do not return their books on time are not allowed to borrow another book until such time that it is returned or paid for. Notices will be sent home to parents that week if a book is returned damaged. A note will be sent home after three weeks of the book not being returned, or as soon as the student informs the library that it has been lost. If books are found the student's family will be refunded the money paid.
