Title I Mathematics Program

The mathematics program in Title I is dedicated to providing children with quality instruction.  The program supplies teachers with current research on best practices for teaching mathematics. A variety of resources are available to support teachers' efforts in preparing students to become proficient in mathematics.~ These resources include an assortment of manipulatives for children to have hands on experiences, a collection of literature books so that children can make real world connections and a large selection of instructional manuals for teachers.

Title I mathematics services are delivered in the classroom as support or as a pull out program with instruction to identified students.~ Both models provide remedial and enrichment services depending on the specific needs of the classroom or students always with classroom teacher direction.~ Title I services are provided by certified instructors who are highly qualified.~ The certified instructors and the classrooms teachers coordinate instruction; a parent component involves families in active learning as much as possible.

All of the Title I math program's objectives align with the district's curriculum. Program lessons use strategies based on the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics standards to reinforce regular classroom instruction.
